Cultural Programming at Parlor
From readings with New York Times best selling authors, to wine events hosted by Anthony Bourdain, to notable-heavy Tribeca Film Festival after parties, cultural programming at Parlor is as varied as it is compelling. But all cultural events at Parlor still share a common thread of intimacy: programming engages our members as collaborators, not distant spectators.
Food and Wine Events
Guest chef appearances by Michael White and Detroit’s Craig Lieckfelt, and a collaboration between The James Beard Foundation and Celebrity Chef Candice Kumai are a few highlights of the club’s food and wine programming. Guided wine and whiskey tastings and our dessert lounge balance out the culinary events calendar.
Collaborations with organizations Electric Literature and PEN highlight an Idea Forum series that features curated content from inspiring guests at the forefront of their fields. Parlor members are encouraged to connect with hosts and guests over dinner and cocktails following Idea Forum events.
Special Events and Parties
Saturday nights at Parlor are anchored by culture collective Supply NY, who deliver a steady rotation of local New York talent to curate cutting-edge electronic music for our members. Members can also expect large-scale parties throughout the year, as well as access to a range of Fashion Week, launch, and gallery celebrations.
In 2016, Parlor unveils two landmark programs that pair emerging thought leaders with patrons, within our member community. The Cinema Fund rewards undiscovered New York screenwriting talent with a cash prize, and The Seed Fund provides select entrepreneurs a chance to pitch ideas, win a cash prize, and build connections with Parlor members looking to seed new companies.
